Malaysian Man - The Return of Malaysian Liquids
Ladies and gentlemen welcome to another blog! Exciting isn’t it? I know, let me tell you why I’m excited. It’s because today, I have received yet another package! What’s different this time I hear you ask? Well, for the last few months I’ve been seeing ripples in the water, heard whispers and rumours about a company out of Malaysia who is supposedly gunning for all other Malaysian Liquids! Oh, there’s some heat here people, I’m feeling it and just when I thought I had the upper hand on these people, look what just showed up. Unexpected and out of the blue almost as if they knew I was watching, almost as if they knew I had my own sights set on a new competitor. You haven’t got the best of me yet Malaysian Man, it’s on!
Malaysian Man has had a little breakthrough here, in the sense that Malaysian flavours are mostly hit and miss. So what these guys have done is taken the best flavours Malaysia has to offer and engineered them in Europe. To put it differently, it’s kind of like BMW, a German car manufacturer who utilises their best components for sale in other cars all around the world. That’s what is happening here, the flavours are strictly Malaysian, but everything else is done up to European standards. That does NOT mean they lack flavour, quite the opposite. It just means they have done things properly! In layman’s terms, they are tested in Europe to make sure the coolants are up to specifications and the juices meet the FDA requirements so they are all 100%.
Not good enough for you? Well, try this on for size! One of the reasons they do this is to create coil friendly juices. We spoke about this before but most of the juices on the market actually contain sweeteners and that’s the main reason all of our coils gunk up so quickly. Malaysian flavours were known for being super sweet and this was one of their downfalls. What Malaysian Man has done though, is taken those juices and engineered them so they are the best flavour profiles possible whilst still being coil friendly etc. God, I wish these guys were around four years ago. If you don’t know what I’m on about, four years ago was when a slough of juices from Malaysia flooded the market and were welcomed very very warmly but, the gunked up coils made them slowly go away, poof, gone… not anymore, they are back baby!
Now then, Mr. Man, you talk the big talk but it’s time to look at the flavours you guys sent through. I’m looking at five bottles here, Sweet Mango, Sour Pear, Black Grape, Twisted Apple and finally Black Raspberry. All of which are in my experience, well-known variations of flavours used in Malaysian street food in one way or another. Granted, I have never been to Malaysia myself but with the world at my fingertips in the form of Google, I can confirm. Obviously, these guys are a big deal so I will give them my full attention as always but I will only try a few as to give you a better understanding and not bore you too much so I’ll be focusing on three today. Primarily 50/50 in PG/VG and ranging from 25ml to 50ml, these juices are actually perfect in tanks and once in a sub-ohm one, it just becomes a super clean flavour! The three I chose today though are Sweet mango, Black Raspberry and finally Sour Pear.
So, let’s begin with the scrutiny of Sweet Mango. As you all may know by now, I am a bit of a fussy guy when it comes to juice flavours, I don’t like Cinnamon juices, I hate Aniseed and I’m not a huge fan of Mango either. This, however, smells great when opening the bottle. The issues I have had with Mango juices in the past are a few. Long story short, It’s one of my colleagues’ favourite all day vapes and I think they just smell weird to be honest with you, even taste it sometimes. Honestly, it’s just not for me! However this Malaysian Man sweet mango is different, it’s more refined and sweeter. It’s what I wished all mango e liquids taste like! Flavour wise, Sweet Mango comes packed with a little bit of menthol, nothing too in your face but just enough to tie it together and bring out the best notes of mango possible in my opinion. It’s also a subtle enough menthol where it doesn’t give you that burning feeling as you inhale it’s easy on the palette and I believe it’s a great touch as opposed to a traditional mango on its own.
One down and two to go, let’s kick this one off all sweet like again with Black Raspberry, a fruit which is well known all over the world and I’ll be damned it I haven’t eaten enough of these in my lifetime to not know what it tastes like! The aroma from the bottle is pleasant and very berry-like, sweet almost like a jam. When dripped, the inhale is very surprising. There’s a mix between a sweet jam, almost jelly candy and natural Raspberry. It kind of reminds me of a well known sweet here in the UK which I can’t name for obvious reasons… As I said before though, it bounces around and there are times where it’s a real wild berry and times when it becomes a sweet and easy to vape juice, not that it was hard, to begin with. Overall, I like the flavour this produces and I like juices that make you think twice, even more, thumbs up from me here.
Sour Pear is the final contestant today and let me tell you now, I’ve had some bad experiences with Pears too, I guess it’s the formulation companies use, it makes them very acidic, almost acetone-like. I’ve been proven wrong before so let’s see where this takes us. The fragrance, yes fragrance is beautiful. It sort of tingles the nose when smelt, let’s see if it tastes half as good as it smells! The first vape is as expected, sweet yet balanced. The pear is really distinguished, there’s nothing in this juice which would interfere and it comes through clear and focused which in my opinion is the best way to make juices like these. One thing I’ve noticed with Sour Pear is the aftertaste. It leaves behind a sweet flavour which actually made me go back and vape it some more. It’s honestly one of the best and that’s no understatement!
That’s it! The Malaysians are back and they came through, packing some serious heat! I’m curious to know how long you guys have been vaping and if you were in the game when the Malaysian juices were present. So hit me up in the comments and let me know what you think about these juices. I know you probably have not tried them yet but I urge you to. Trust me, you are missing out if you don’t!
That being said, you know what time it is. Be safe, keep vaping and as always, I’ll catch you on the next one!
