New Year, New You - But seriously!

It’s that time again! Every January brings with it a sense of renewed purpose and possibility. Each one presents a chance to do things better than last year, be fitter, happier, more productive…

Well this year we’re making it our aim to convert every smoker in the UK to vaping! No small matter, but we like to think big.

Smoking is the number one cause of lung cancer here in the UK and around the world, but every smoker knows it’s not easy to stop. There are all the associations - coffee, food, those much needed micro-breaks in your working day. Temptation is everywhere! Suddenly everyone is smoking! Yep, going cold turkey is about as much fun as your sixth sandwich of the very same…

Stop Smoking Timeline

News flash people - you don’t have to.

In Britain, 2017 saw our very own NHS get behind e-cigarettes as an alternative to smoking for the first time. This was big news in the industry and around the world. The NHS ran a month-long campaign called Stoptober in which they stated:

“E-cigarettes are a great way to help combat nicotine cravings and carry a fraction of the risk of cigarettes.” - NHS Stoptober

They went further than ever before in suggesting that ex-smokers using e-cigarettes, combined with use of support groups and counselling, have “some of the highest quitting success rates” of all. That’s great news and we commend them for their positive and practical approach to the issue. It seems that finally a heavyweight professional body has finally jumped off the fence and just stated the obvious: vaping is safer than smoking - it causes 95% less harm, that’s their figure - and is almost always the easiest way to quit. And just in case you need further clarity as to why...

“E-cigarette vapour doesn't contain tar or carbon monoxide, two of the most harmful elements in tobacco smoke.” NHS Stoptober

There followed a whole host of advertising, celebrity endorsement and a big push across all media channels for smokers to try to make it to a month smoke free - after which they would be five times more likely to quit for good. It was a great campaign full of engaging content that enjoyed a good deal of success nationally; we look forward to seeing what they have in mind for next year.

So take some great advice and switch to vaping now. And if you’re already a vaping convert, tell a friend and help them to start their very own vaping journey. You know it makes sense!

Happy New Year Folks!
