Vandy Vape - Mesh RDA
Let get things straight. Vandy Vape are one my favourite device manufacturers to date. But, that doesn’t mean they are getting a good review just because i'm a fan, oh no. Let’s talk about something that I find very interesting. No, not vaping fish sauce, but the Vandy Vape mesh RDA. A dripper designed to use strips of stainless steel mesh as a coil; There’s plenty to talk about and a little more to compare to so...
So here’s the deal, i love anything and everything unusual so you can imagine my reaction when a dripper, something that i’m very familiar with came in and uses mesh as a coil? I jumped on it straight away! Straight off the bat, the airflow is a little restricted. There, i said it, happy? Hold on though, there are plenty pros for the one con.
Take the deck. Designed to use mesh as a heating element instead of a coil, differences are to be expected. Instead of normal posts or posts with clamps, we find a flat deck with a pair of slots where the mesh slides in and flat head screws on either side to clamp the mesh in place.
Vandy vape have utilized mesh as a heating element and it’s glorious! Not only that, but you can use the slot for the mesh for a single, dual or even triple coil. And what’s even better - they’ve included a hollow 510 connection to allow for squonking!
The benefits: For one, you don’t have to spend time making coils. Two, the wick is just better! Since the “coil” surface is so much bigger, you can literally stuff the underside full of cotton which means it’s also going to hold a lot more juice. Three, have you ever spent ages trying to get a coil to glow evenly from the inside out? Of course you have because everyone has. There are some coils that are awesomely vapable as soon as they are wrapped and others that need a lot of work, not the mesh though. It’s pretty much a plug and play and that’s for real this time.
Tips : you can buy rolls of stainless steel mesh on a roll, so cutting sheets of flat mesh is no longer an issue.
