Overview: If you’re not already familiar with squonk mods, its about time you got a little idea of what these are. In layman's terms, a squonk mod is a combination of atomizer and mod, with a self contained bottle of eliquid. Are they any good? Furthermore, should you buy one? Let's have a little look. Personal opinion: Squonk mods have been around for a long time and there's a reason they still exist, they rock! Basically, these are specialised mods, originally used with dripping atomisers. They came about when people wanted to use their dripping atomisers but could not be bothered to drip anymore. So how do you drip without dripping? Well, you use a squonk mod. Essentially, atomisers were created with a hole through the 510 pin. This allowed for a bottle to be hooked up directly to the atomiser and whenever the atty dried up, with a simple squeeze of the integrated bottle, you were good to go and keep on vaping. This is still the case today although fewer people are using squonk mods and it’s a damn shame. This is where Vandy Vape comes into play though. As mentioned before, Their range of dripping atomisers come with a squonk pin in their spare parts kit for situations like these. The BF Kit however contains a BF RDA, which is specifically designed to work with the intended mod, supplied in the kit but it also features a normal 510 pin, incase you wanted to use the BF dripper on a non-squonk device; The dripper is in my opinion a variant of Vandy Vape’s mesh RDA, featuring a similar deck but this time with holes and a couple juice wells. Not surprisingly, the atomiser handles and performs nicely, being able to handle anything i can throw at it. Moving on to it’s better half, the squonk mod itself is very nicely done, coming in a large variety of colours but the one i had for review was the black and green version, which is by far my favourite since i picked it. It’s light, easy to carry and above all, easily accessible, meaning everything is open such as the batteries and squonk bottle, hidden behind a piece of coloured plastic. It is pretty secure however, both panels are held on to the main body by a plethora of magnets, making sure they won't go anywhere unless you want them to. In Terms of power, i’m happy to say that this is an unregulated mod, meaning there isn’t any electrical wizardry on the inside to up the power or anything like that. The power you get is regulated only by the resistance of your coil, so make sure that your coil and battery are compatible. Speaking of which, the device is powered by a single 18650 battery, which outputs 4.2v on a full charge but again, it will drain quicker or slower depending on your coils resistance. Let’s wrap by far one of the coolest vape kits on the market at the moment, well for me anyway, the BF. In my mind, having an unregulated mod is a great thing to own since people nowadays are a little scared of them but, do your research and understand how unregulated devices work and you will be fine. In terms of the kit itself, i think its a nice little box mod with loads to offer, especially freeing up some carry weight and helping you enjoy your vape that little bit more. Tips: extra batteries are a must if you vape at low resistances, since more power is outputted through the coils, thus draining your battery faster.
