Mouth to Lung Tanks

MTL stands for “Mouth to Lung” which describes the inhale style of a vape tank. MTL vape tanks are designed to be used at a low wattage and are more focussed on producing a harsher throat hit from nicotine and intense flavour, more so than vapour production.

All tanks can leak if not used correctly. There are various reasons as to why a vape tank might leak which include the coil not being primed correctly or being flooded with E-Liquid, the wattage being too low for the coil to vapourise the E-Liquids correctly and also if the coil is burnt out a tank can leak too. As long as you ensure that the coil inside your tank is replaced and you use the correct wattage, you should find that it will resolve 99% of leaking issues.

A lot of people have their own opinion of which is the best MTL tank but there is a huge selection of people who use the Aspire Nautilus range of mouth to lung tanks. The range includes the hugely popular Nautilus Mini, the newer Nautilus 2S tank and also the original Nautilus 2 MTL tank. Aspire’s Nautilus range has grown in popularity due to being reliable and they also very rarely leak.

In fact, MTL tanks have been specifically designed for use with new vapers in mind. They are ideal if you are switching to vaping and create a simulated throat hit similar to that of smoking a cigarette. They tend to have a very tight draw and you will need to hold the vapour in your mouth before inhaling as you will not be able to directly inhale into your lungs using an MTL style of vape tank.
