Why do I need to prove my age?

If you make a purchase from, you may notice that we have added an age verification step to the checkout process.

This is because England, Wales and Scotland have introduced a law that prohibits the sale of e cigarettes to under-18's and we expect to see similar laws introduced in Northern Ireland soon.

    • When can I verify my age?

      We can verify your age via the Electoral Roll, your Driving Licence or Passport. Once you are logged into your account, you have three options to verify your age: You will need to supply your full name and address as they appear on the Electoral Roll or Driving Licence or supply your full Passport Details. This information will allow us to instantly confirm your age, and should not result in any delay to your order. You can also speak with a member of our customer service team during their opening hours, who can talk you through the age verification process via the telephone.

    • How will my details be used?

      As part of our regulatory obligations to ensure our products are not sold to those under the age of 18, UKECIG STORE verify the age of our customers using Capita Identity Solutions (CIS).

      CIS utilise the services of, amongst others, credit reference agencies to validate the customers supplied age details. They do NOT conduct a credit check, but only an ID check.

      Whilst these searches will appear on a customers credit file, the searches are in no way detrimental to the customers credit worthiness or credit score and are not visible to other providers of services.
