What is vaping?
Vaping is the process of heating an eliquid into vapour and then inhaling. The e-liquids used can be with or without nicotine.
What is an Ohm (Ω)?
An ohm is the measure of electrical resistance of the coil inside an atomizer or tank. It is normally shown using this symbol - Ω.
Are there different types of vaping?
There are two types of vaping - Mouth to lung (MTL) and direct lung (DL). MTL is similar to how you would smoke a cigarette whilst DL resembles smoking shisha.
How do I know if what I am buying is genuine?
For hardware, most brands that we distribute have a scratch-off verification code (sometimes called "Scratch & Verify") which you can use to verify that products from our website are genuine. It's not a legal requirement, therefore not all products have the code. Most e-liquids do not come with a verification code, therefore the best way to know that they are genuine is to purchase through a registered, official retailer like our vape shop, UK ECIG STORE. All our products are 100% authentic, we only purchase from official distributors and suppliers whose products comply with industry legal standards.
What are the health implications of vaping?
Studies from the British Medical Association have shown that vaping is 95% less harmful than smoking. The NHS are supporting the use of e-cigarettes in their quit smoking / Stoptober campaigns. There is no carbon monoxide or tar within the vapour, as confirmed by doctors and recent studies by the Royal College of Physicians.
Why is e-liquid coming out of the tank and going in my mouth?
If the coil is over saturated the excess e-liquid within the atomiser may flood the tank and you could end up with droplets of liquid on your lips / in your mouth. If you get e-liquid in your mouth, it is advised to rinse your mouth out with plenty of water.
Is vaping cheaper than smoking?
Vaping can work out to be between 50 - 90% cheaper than cigarette smoking.
How old do you have to be to buy a vape product in store and online?
To purchase any vape product or any e-liquid you have to be above 18 years old by law. You may need to verify your age with a driving licence or passport if you visit a store if you are lucky enough to look under 18! When ordering online you may need to pass an age verification check before purchasing products.
Will vaping help me to quit smoking?
Some people use these as a tool to cut down the amount of tobacco they use and others can completely come off of tobacco products using electronic cigarettes. Please be aware that as with any product that replaces smoking. completely coming off of tobacco requires willpower. "There is growing evidence that e-cigarettes can help people stop smoking. Using an e-cigarette can help you manage your nicotine cravings. To get the best out of it, make sure you're using it as much as you need to and with the right strength of nicotine in your e-liquid. You won't get the full benefit from vaping unless you stop smoking cigarettes completely. You can get advice from specialist vape shops or your local stop smoking service." - NHS, 2018.
Is it legal to vape indoors? Are e-cigs affected by the UK smoking ban?
Some places have starting banning use of electronic cigarettes indoors, there may be No Smoking signs up in public places and a lot of these now include e-cigarette
Am I allowed to take my vaping products on a plane if I am going away?
It is ok to travel with an e-cigarette depending on your destination. It is advisable to check with the local customs office of the country you are visiting to find out if they permit the carriage of electronic cigarettes. If you do take a tank on a plane then it would be best if you remove as much e-liquid as possible as the air pressure can cause tanks to leak and e-liquids can be transported with your toiletries bag. You are not allowed to use your electronic cigarette on the plane.
Does vaping taste the same as smoking tobacco?
The flavours differ widely, so if you have a blueberry flavour, it will taste of blueberries but you may be able to taste the nicotine if the strength is quite high or higher than you use normally. There are also tobacco flavoured e-liquids available, which resemble the taste of cigarette smoke.
Do e-cigarettes and e-liquids produce a smell?
Yes, the vapour can leave a small amount of smell depending on the e-liquid and type of device. Some smells can be pleasant to you but not to others, so please take this into consideration if you are using the electronic cigarette in confined spaces.
How often can I vape? Can I use vaping products as often as I would if I was smoking?
Some people will use their electronic cigarette very regularly, taking a couple of puffs every hour, whilst others may use it in the same way as if they were smoking cigarettes. If you would normally smoke a cigarette then you can use your vape instead in the same pattern as smoking.
Is there a danger of secondhand smoke from electronic cigarettes?
As electronic cigarettes give out vapour there is no second hand smoke, but people may experience second hand vapour inhalation if you use your electronic cigarette in a space that is not ventilated or is confined. According to NHS, there is no evidence that exposure to e-cigarette vapour is harmful for bystanders.
How do I choose the vaping product that’s right for me?
The best way is to speak to one of our customer service advisors, they are trained to help you make a well informed decision and you can reach them via email, phone or live chat. All the details you need are in the Contact Us section of the website.
What am I actually inhaling when I vape on an electronic cigarette?
You are inhaling the vapour produced from heating a mixture of water, vegetable glycerin (VG), propylene glycol (PG), artificial and natural flavourings and nicotine if you choose to have this in your eliquid.
Do you sell clones?
At UK ECIG STORE, we made the decision very early on to not sell fake or copied products - more commonly known as clones - for several reasons. Not only do these products sit in a very grey area in the legal zone, they also undermine the efforts of hard-working manufacturers and mod makers around the world.
For those unfamiliar with the buzz around 'clones', it's similar to how high-cost designer handbags are copied, ever-so-slightly modified, mass-manufactured, and sold at a tiny fraction of the cost of the genuine product. The world of vaping has grown so rapidly that we're seeing more and more premium manufacturers cropping up, creating unique devices from amazing materials and using engineering techniques so good that the end result is, what many vapers would call, a piece of artwork. This is often reflected by a premium price for the product. With such a device, you'd often find a serial number engraved on the device, a presentation box, and perhaps even a certificate of authenticity. It's not always the expensive devices that get cloned, though. As with most consumer goods out there, almost anything with a recognisable brand name can be recreated in anonymous factories and sold cheaply enough to entice consumers to buy their clones instead of the real thing.
Now, whilst we recognize we could make good revenue on clones, it's not the kind of business model we want to have. As vapers ourselves, we love the work that manufacturers put into their products, and we want to support them. There's also the biggest issue of all: safety. No one knows what batteries are being used in these clones. No one knows the materials used in clones of atomizers, and many of them come to you still with machine oil on them. We've even seen mechanical mod clones without vent holes. There's not a chance we'd ever risk selling something so potentially dangerous, even if it yields massive profit margins. You can be sure that whenever you buy anything from UK ECIG STORE, you're buying genuine and full authorized products that we received directly from the manufacturer. Don't for get we have over 5 local vape shop's so have a look for a vape shop near me and our dedicated staff will help you with any quires you may have.

Intro
My coils are burning out far too quickly, why is this happening?
Coils can burn out for various reasons. This can be due to the coils not being fully saturated with e-liquid when originally primed, or by using the coil at too high a wattage. Most coils have a wattage range displayed on the side, and it is advised that you stay within this range to prolong the life of the coils. Chain vaping is also another factor that can contribute to this as you are not allowing the coil to re-saturate with e-liquid, therefore vaping on a dry coil.
What is a Squonker/squonking mod?
A squonker is a box mod with an inbuilt e-liquid bottle which feeds a small tube allowing eliquid to flow along towards the 510 pin when the bottle is squeezed. A bottom fed (BF) rebuildable dripping atomiser is required with these devices for them to work correctly.
What is a pass through charging, device
This is a type of device which can be charged and used for vaping at the same time. Handy if you use your device while on the go, either at work or in the car.
Do all coils fit all tanks?
No. All tanks will have dedicated coils manufactured by the company that produces the tank. E.g. The Aspire Nautilus Mini Tank will use Aspire Nautilus BVC coils. You can use our Coil Finder to see easily which coil you need.
What are the diameters of tanks?
Tank diameters differ and the most popular sizes currently will be either 18mm or 22mm and for rebuildables either 22mm or 24/25mm. You will however find the odd tank which is larger.
What makes a sub ohm tank?
Sub ohm tanks give out a lot of vapour. Normally the resistance of the coils would be 0.5Ω or below but any tank that has a resistance of 0.99Ω or below is classed as sub ohm.
What is the temperature control range on a device?
Some mods have temperature control modes - the range shows the temperature that the coils will heat up to when the product is in use. This is normally between 200°C- 250°C / 392°F – 480°F
I am a beginner, what is the best kit for me?
The One Kit is our most popular and best performing starter kit, developed to ensure that all starter vapers have a smooth transition between smoking and vaping.
How often do I need to replace my coil?
A coil is recommended to be changed roughly every 1 - 4 weeks depending on usage, but if the eliquid discolours or when the tank used tastes burnt then it is probably time to change the coil within your tank.
How long does my battery last before I need to recharge it?
Depending on the size of your battery and how often you use the device, this can differ from 2 - 3 hours to a full day. The higher the mAh (Milliamphour - measurement of ampage of a battery) the longer your battery will last you - this is also dependant on the power you set your device to fire at.
Why does my coil taste burnt?
The cotton within the coil may not be saturated correctly and therefore has been burnt when used, you should replace the coil as soon as possible. This should return the flavour back to its original state.
Do I need a spare battery for my electronic cigarette and when should I replace them?
Some batteries can last between 6 - 12 months if looked after correctly. If the device has an internal battery you may need to buy a new device after its time. If your device has an external battery then you can always buy spares and use these on a rotation system to prolong the lives of the batteries. It is always handy to have a spare just in case you need it, so next time you're at a our vape shop don't forget to collect your free battery case with every battery purchase.
How do I stop my tank from leaking?
Leaking can be caused by flooding the cotton and coil with too much e-liquid. A way to solve this is to clear away any excess liquid then turn the wattage up by 5 - 10 watts for a few puffs to heat the excess into vapour, then turn it back down again. If this still doesn't work then you may need to change the coil as through usage the cotton within the coil can deteriorate and soak less e-liquid.
Regarding batteries, what does mAh mean?
mAh stands for milliamps per hour. This is a measurement of amperage of a battery. E.g. 3000mAh battery will stay charged for longer time compared to a 2500mAh battery
How do I get more vapour out of my device?
There are two ways of increasing vapour, either you can turn up the power of your device or use a tank with a lower resistance coil. For more information on how to get more vapour from your e-cig, check out our blog on cloud chasing!
What does SSOCC stand for in the phrase, Kanger SSOCC coils?
SSOCC stands for Stainless Steel Organic Cotton Coil, these are manufactured by Kangertech and can be used in a variety of their tanks such as the CL tank 2.0 or the Protank 4 2.0.
What’s the difference between voltage and wattage?
Voltage is the direct current given out by the battery and the wattage is the measure of power distributed to the coil from the battery. Wattage can be changed easily using a variable wattage device.
Why are the batteries wrapped with coloured plastic?
This is a protective casing for your battery, if the plastic is damaged in any way it is advised to replace the battery immediately in the interests of safety. Please refer to our battery safety guidelines.
What is the best temperature to vape at on Temperature control mode?
A good starting point would be at either 240°C or 540°F. From here you will then be able to adjust the temperature of the mod yourself to suit what you need.
Is it safe to charge your device overnight?
It is best to charge the batteries while you are awake and they are in sight. If you have a power surge in your house you want to be able to act quickly to avoid the battery causing damage to your property or person.
