Pod Kits

Generally, you will find two main different types of pod vape kits or pod systems to choose from. One is a Closed Pod system, also known as a prefilled pod kit, and the other is an Open Pod system or refillable pod kit.

Prefilled Pod Kit (Closed Pod System)

Closed pod systems are the easiest device to use in the vaping market and only use replaceable cartridges to function, which are not refillable but come pre-filled with e-liquid. You replace the whole pod once the coil needs changing, typically after between 5 and 10 refills. For more advanced users, there are kits where you can remove the coils from the pod and just replace the coil, greatly reducing how often you need to change the pod.

There is also another type of open pod kit known as a Pod Mod. These are more powerful devices with larger battery capacities that feature either semi or full sub-ohm capabilities and provide advanced settings customisation.

Disposable Vape

The final type of pod vape kit is the disposable vape. These are specialised versions of closed pod kits, where the pod is sealed inside the device, and the whole vape is disposed of once it’s empty. A DTL Pod Kit is designed to replicate the feel of a sub-ohm device in a much smaller and pocket-friendly device. DTL stands for Direct To Lung, meaning you just inhale straight into your lungs. These devices are recommended to be used with lower nicotine e-liquids as they are still quite powerful, and high nicotine would feel too harsh to the user.

An MTL Pod Kit is perfect for people looking for a tighter airflow and a cigarette-style feel. MTL stands for Mouth To Lung, meaning you collect the vapour in your mouth first and then breathe it into your lungs, just like a cigarette. These generally use lower power, so high nicotine e-liquids are ideal to be used with MTL Kits.

Pod kits are almost always rechargeable and a single charge would last around 24 hours. The battery will start to deplete roughly a year after the first charge, so switching pod kits every year or so, is ideal. The coils or vape pods will last around a week, depending on vaping style and how sweet the e-liquid you are vaping is. The sweeter the e-liquid, the shorter the coil or pod will last
